Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) is moving forward with two significant projects to expand and improve Austin Independent School District’s (AISD) McCallum and Anderson high schools in Austin, Texas. The projects come to a combined total of almost 100,000 square feet. This initiative is expected to play a crucial role in accommodating the growing student population and enhancing educational facilities in the area.
The improvements involve a comprehensive upgrade to the existing campus facilities. The project includes constructing new buildings and updating existing structures to support innovative learning environments and advanced educational programs. The modernization effort is designed to provide students with quality spaces that cater to diverse learning needs.
McCallum High School’s $67 million expansion includes a Science and Career & Technology Education Department, which will contain computer labs, robotics, a wood shop, biology, chemistry, and physics spaces.
Anderson High School’s renovation will include a competition gym, locker rooms, coaches’ offices, training rooms, officials’ dressing rooms, and laundry.
Adolfson & Peterson brings extensive experience in educational construction to the table, having completed several similar projects successfully. Their approach emphasizes collaboration with AISD and key stakeholders to ensure the final product meets the community’s educational goals and values.
“Schools are the heart of the community, fostering growth and connection and we are dedicated to providing exceptional work to support these campuses.”
Tommy Meserole, Senior Director of Preconstruction, Adolfon & Peterson
The target completion date is January 2027.
