Qair has successfully commissioned the Altenschlag wind farm project in Germany. This significant development is a part of Qair’s ongoing efforts to expand its renewable energy portfolio across Europe. The wind farm, consisting of 3 turbines, will generate enough electricity to power around 8,000 households annually. With a total capacity of 13.5MW, the wind farm is expected to significantly contribute to Germany’s renewable energy targets. The activation of this wind farm aligns with Germany’s broader commitment to transition from fossil fuels to renewable sources of energy. The country aims to cut 55% of its emissions by 2030 and reach net…
ANDRITZ, a global leader in engineering, will supply a new 100 MW green hydrogen plant in Rostock, Germany on an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) basis. This project highlights Germany’s commitment to expanding its renewable energy capacity. It will be one of the first plants to supply the German “Hydrogen Core Network”. Green hydrogen, produced via electrolysis powered by renewable energy sources, serves as a clean energy source that can reduce carbon emissions and aid in the transition to sustainable energy systems. The order was placed by REPCO (rostock EnergyPort cooperation GmbH), which is a joint venture established in 2022 with…
Concert Infrastructure and GDI Integrated Facility Services Inc. and Ainsworth Inc. have teamed up to launch an innovative energy retrofit program aimed at improving energy efficiency in existing buildings across Canada. This initiative comes at a crucial time when many property owners are seeking sustainable solutions to reduce their environmental impact and operating costs. The program focuses on providing financing for owners of institutional, commercial, and multi-residential buildings to upgrade their facilities with energy-efficient technologies and smart building solutions. By implementing measures like advanced lighting systems, efficient HVAC components, and superior insulation, the partnership aims to significantly cut energy consumption…
VolkerRail has been awarded a significant contract worth £19.9 million to enhance signalling structures in the North West of England. This project is set to improve the railway infrastructure and boost efficiency across the region. The contract, which is a vital part of the wider efforts to upgrade the area’s rail network, involves a range of improvements to existing signalling systems. These upgrades are essential for increasing reliability and safety for both passengers and freight services. By modernizing these systems, the project aims to support the anticipated growth in rail traffic over the coming years. VolkerRail will work closely with…
Rio Tinto has initiated a new ore sorting demonstration project at its Lac Tio mine in Havre-Saint-Pierre. This innovative project is part of the company’s broader strategy to enhance efficiency and sustainability in its operations. The ore sorting technology aims to improve the processing of mineral resources by increasing the quality of ore that advances to the next stage. By implementing this technology, Rio Tinto seeks to reduce waste, lower energy consumption, and decrease costs, which are crucial steps toward achieving more sustainable mining practices. The project at the Lac Tio mine will assess the effectiveness of advanced ore sorting…
On June 5, 2025, the full commissioning of the Provence Grand Large project was announced. The Mediterranean’s first floating offshore wind farm is situated 17 kilometers off the coast of Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône. This pioneering venture aims to harness renewable energy efficiently while addressing various environmental challenges. Developed by EDF Renewables, Provence Grand Large utilizes advanced floating wind technology to capitalize on the region’s maritime winds. This innovation enables the installation of turbines in deeper waters, beyond the limits of traditional fixed-bottom structures. The wind farm comprises three 8.4 MW floating wind turbines, each mounted on a semi-submersible platform, anchored to the…
A new partnership is set to accelerate the deployment of BeHydro’s dual fuel and 100% hydrogen engines across Japan’s ports and coastal regions. As part of the initiative, the engines will be adapted to comply with Japanese regulations and go through local testing and commissioning. Two V12 BeHydro dual fuel hydrogen engines will be installed on a tugboat currently under construction at Tsuneishi Shipbuilding, with delivery expected in July this year. In addition, three sets of inline 6-cylinder BeHydro 100% hydrogen engines will be used for a zero-emission ship planned by JPNH2YDRO. Both vessels are being developed with support from…
Energy Vault recently celebrated a significant milestone with the commercial operation of the Cross Trails Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), their first asset placed in service under their “own and operate” growth strategy. This marks a pivotal achievement in the company’s mission to deliver innovative solutions in energy storage. The 57 MW two-hour BESS located in Snyder, Texas is actively providing energy and ancillary services at a prime Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) market node. This system is strategically positioned to enhance grid reliability and support renewable energy integration. The success of this project underscores Energy Vault’s commitment to…
Ocean Winds has taken a significant step forward in renewable energy by successfully installing its first offshore wind turbine at the Îles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier (EMYN) offshore wind farm off the French coast. This milestone marks an essential phase in the project’s development, which aims to harness sustainable energy to meet future power demands. The Yeu-Noirmoutier wind farm, situated off the Atlantic coast of the islands of Yeu and Noirmoutier in France, is projected to supply clean energy to nearly 800,000 people. This advancement underscores the role of offshore wind power in the transition to greener energy solutions. The…
